The page "Publish it!" is the heart of the Independent Media Center site. You
can publish your texts, sounds, videos and images, and they will be available
immediately to be read by the other users. This way, anyone who acesses the
site can also be a media producer. Like Jello Biafra said: Hate the media?
Become the media!
Here you can publish your articles in the format you prefer (academic,
journalistic, personal declaration, etc.) and it will appear as a link on the
column on the right side. Before you do so, please have in mind that:
-Comments must be added to the article in dicussion. Therefore, to respond to na
already existing article please use the form at the end of each article.
-If you have already published a comment do not publish it again as a new
article.
-If you want to contact the Independent Media Center, do not publish na article.
Write to : contato@midiaindependente.org (others adresses)
-If you want to contact other users, do not publish na article. Try to reach
them through the discussion lists.
-The Independent Media Center is a news site. If what you are publishing is
neither news nor analysis (that could be na academic text or poetry), then this
is not the right place to publish your article.
In general, the authors of the articles published on the Independent Media
Center site give away on the copyrights through a COPYLEFT license. The
non-commercial reproduction of the articles, (its publishing or exhibition in a
vehicle that does not aim profit or commercial purposes) is authorized, in a
way that the commercial reproduction without previous consultation of the author
is prohibited.
This is part of a policy that believes that infromation and culture must
circulate freely, but should not be commercial assets. Unless you inform in the
text that you do not accept the model license or that you have the copyrights,
your article will be published with the following Copyleft note: The
reproduction for non-commercial purposes is free, since the author and the
source are cited and this note is included in it.. That means that any organ or
media that does not have any commercial purposes can reproduce your article
mentioning your name and the IMC. But the enterprises and vehicles with
commercial purposes can only reproduce the article if you authorize them to do
so.
To monitor the site, an Editorial Policy was created, and it is open to
modifications and a space to the site.s administration. In this space, the
articles (after they have been published), can be hidden. Besides that, the
articles can be edited or gouped by the editorial collective, to make the access
to them easier. We have a lot of respect for the integrity of what is published.
Most times, we only make EDITORIAL CORRECTIONS to make the articles easier to
be read or compatible with technical patterns.
If you have any problems or doubts, contact the editorial collective of the IMC
at contato@midiaindependente.org. You can participate in this collective being a volunteer. Informations.
TIPS FOR PUBLISHING
To make your text easier to view, the formatting must not have tabulation. The
paragraphs must not be backed out and must be separated by a blank line:
FIRST PARAGRAPH TEXT FIRST PARAGRAPH TEXT FIRST PARAGRAPH TEXT FIRST PARAGRAPH
TEXT FIRST PARAGRAPH TEXT FIRST PARAGRAPH TEXT FIRST PARAGRAPH TEXT FIRST
PARAGRAPH TEXT FIRST PARAGRAPH TEXT FIRST PARAGRAPH TEXT
SECOND PARAGRAPH TEXT SECOND PARAGRAPH TEXT SECOND PARAGRAPH TEXT SECOND
PARAGRAPH TEXT SECOND PARAGRAPH TEXT SECOND PARAGRAPH TEXT SECOND PARAGRAPH TEXT
For better viewing of texts that are from emails, the reproduction signs must be
of the kind: .>TEXT TEXT. and separation of the lines should be removed. You can
do ir manually or with an text editor or either use programs that do it
automatically.
